VVV's Portuguese players

Diogo Viana (February 22, 1990)

Diogo Filipe Guerreiro Viana is a tricky winger. Considering his position he could not have had a better school as he began learning his trade at the Sporting academy, which has produced the likes of Figo, Ronaldo, Simao, Quaresma and Nani. He switched to FC Porto as part of the deal that saw Portugal international Helder Postiga go in the opposite direction. After some promising cameo performances in the Carlsberg Cup, Porto decided his development would benefit from a loan move to VVV.

Josue (September 17, 1990)

Of the three youngsters loaned to VVV by FC Porto, Jose Pesqueira is the player who has most impressed in his short career thus far. Known as Josue, the attacking midfielder looked an exciting prospect in his first months as a professional at senior level, at both Sporting Covilha and Penafiel. Blessed with prodigious talent, many believe he could become a complete number 10, which would suit Josue down to the ground given that his idol is Deco. Has carried his early promise into his new experience in Holland, where he has earned high praise.

Jorge Chula (February 13, 1990)

Jorge Miguel Feijoca Chula is a skilful winger whose main weapons are his excellent dribbling ability and unpredictability. He quickly got over the disappointment of failing to enter the academies of Lisbon giants Benfica and Sporting, and headed north as a 16-year-old having persuaded Braga to take him on. One year of sparkling displays was enough for Porto to swoop for the youngster, who progressed well at the Dragons ahead of his Dutch adventure.
