Hannover's Portuguese players

Carlitos (born September 6, 1982)

CarlitosHaving been cast aside by Benfica, Portuguese winger Carlitos rebuilt his career in Switzerland. The Lisbon native moved to Sion in 2006, impressing enough to earn a move to one of the country's biggest club, FC Basel, the following summer. Carlitos went from strength to strength at St Jakob Park, playing a key role as the team won the domestic double in his first season. After three years in Swtizerland, the Portuguese signed for Hannover of Germany in the summer of 2010, but Carlitos suffered the misfortune of a serious knee injury just thirty seconds into his Bundesliga debut, putting out of action until the new year.

Sergio Pinto

Sergio PintoPortuguese-born midfielder Sergio Pinto has been in German football since the age of 12, leaving his homeland for TuS Haltern and then Schalke, where he remained for five years. Pinto then made the switch to Alemannia Aachen, before joining Hannover 96 in the summer of 2007.
