Anorthosis' Portuguese players

Cristovao Ramos (born March 25, 1983)

French-born midfielder Cristovao Ramos came through the ranks at FC Porto, but it is in Cyprus that he has made his name. After brief spells at Penafiel and Leixoes, the Portugal under-21 international headed to Southern Europe in 2006 to join AEP Paphos. The club were relegated in his first season, but Ramos remained to help Paphos make an immediate return to the top flight in 2008. Another year in the First Division with Paphos was followed by a move to Cypriot powerhouses Anorthosis Famagusta in the summer of 2009.

Ricardo Fernandes (born April 21, 1978)

Former Sporting and Porto midfielder Ricardo Fernandes enjoys a great status in Cypriot football, largely stemming from a three-year spell at APOEL from 2005 to 2008, during which he inspired his team to win the national championship. Playmaker Fernandes then spent one season in Ukraine in 2008/09, where he made a great contribution to helping Metalurh Donetsk to a European place, before being enticed back to Cyprus by Anorthosis Famagusta in 2009.
