Portuguese abroad: Nani, Sergio Pinto & Jorge Chula among goals

Goals round-up

Nani scored his 9th goal of the season for Manchester United on Saturday afternoon, but the league leaders relinquished their unbeaten Premier League record after Wolverhampton Wanderers came from behind to claim a surprise 2-1 victory at Molineux.

The day's late kick-off was less than three minutes old when Nani put the visitors ahead with a fantastic individual goal, cutting in from the right of the area to fire home with his left foot. However, goals from George Elko (10’) and Kevin Doyle (40’) gave relegation battlers Wolves an unexpected three points.

In Germany, Sergio Pinto scored the only goal of the game to see Hannover 96 to a narrow 1-0 win over Wolfsburg. Just like Nani, midfielder Pinto opened the scoring early, taking on a shot from distance that squirmed through the reach of Wolfsburg goalkeeper Diego Benaglio in the 4th minute. The win keeps Pinto’s side in 4th place in the Bundesliga, with only goal difference separating them from a Champions League place.

Meanwhile, there was a memorable moment for on-loan FC Porto midfielder Jorge Chula (pictured), who scored his first goal in the Dutch Eredivisie for VVV Venlo. The 20-year-old got the second of three goals as his struggling side recorded a much-needed 3-0 home win over NAC Breda.

Gem of a goal, such a pain in the backside that it didn't count for anything in the end :(
