Miguel out for three weeks

Defender sidelined

Valencia defender Miguel will be out for at least three weeks after suffering a knee injury during Wednesday night’s victory over Malaga.

The match at the Mestalla was just fourteen minutes old when Miguel was forced off, being replaced by Angel Dealbert Benitez. Medical tests were carried out on Friday morning, with the results showing slight muscle damage in the former Benfica man’s knee.

Miguel will be re-evaluated again in ten days, but the initial prognosis is that he will be out of action for three weeks, ruling him out of at least seven matches as Valencia embark on a busy schedule in La Liga and the Europa League.

With Jose Bosingwa already ruled out of the World Cup, Miguel’s fitness will be of major interest to Portugal coach Carlos Queiroz ahead of this summer’s finals in South Africa.

I know injuries have been a problem for Portugal recently but it's only three weeks, but it is disappointing to read. By the way I love B.I.G. one of the greatest rappers haha.

Miguel will get back on his feet and work hard, let's be happy that it's now and not during the WC tournament.
What the hell is going on?

First, Glad to hear Carvalho is alright but enough is enough. Dont these players hear about other NT players getting injured? If anything they should be taking advantage of it and pushing for a starting position. God bless these players. No more injuries Please.

Paulo from NC said it best.

The one area of the national team that looked strongest was the back line. That is quickly starting to change.
The ongoing injury list grows

This injury list seems to grow day by day. In the case of Miguel the latest like Carvalho hopefully those guys come back rested, fit, and no lingering affects. Ive never seen anything like this so close to the world cup. If Wc started next month we would be looking at our back 4 consisting of Duda, Bruno Alves, Rolando maybe and then Paulo Ferrreria. My God that is not a good defense not even on paper with exception of Alves.

Keep these injuries on the backline coming! Who's next? They should put Bruno Alves in a nucluer underground bunker to keep him safe until June.

I'm 6 ft 2, and can jump decently high. I have no endurance to run up and down the field but I can be useful in the box during set pieces. Call me up! I'll tug a few shirts, throw some elbows..
