Tininho rescinds with Steaua Bucharest

Short stay in Romania for stopper

Defender Miguel Tininho has returned to Portugal having agreed to mutually terminate his contract with Steaua Bucharest.

The 29-year-old moved to the Romanian capital during the summer on a free transfer from Belenenses, but has barely featured for Steaua. Tininho made his competitive debut in a Europa League play-off match with St Patrick’s Athletic, but did not make a single domestic appearance, playing just a handful of games for Steaua’s B team in the second division.

The player has now returned to Portugal in order to find himself a new club, with several possibilities believed to already have developed. Since leaving Beira-Mar in 2007, Tininho has also had brief spells in England with West Bromwich Albion and Barnsley.

In an announcement made through the club’s official website, Steaua stated that they “thank Tininho and wish him all the best for the future.”
