Antonio Semedo headed for Steaua exit - report

Former Estrela man has offers

semedoPortuguese forward Antonio Semedo is hoping to quit Romanian giants Steaua Bucharest after just one year with the club, according to reports.

Semedo joined Steaua from CFR Cluj last summer, having helped the Transylvania outfit to their first-ever league title in 2008. However, the 30-year-old struggled to make an impact in the capital last season, registering just three league goals as Steaua finished in 5th place.

Now, reports in Portugal suggest Semedo has informed the club that he has offers to leave and intends to move on. As a result, the former Estrela da Amadora man is thought to be unlikely to join his team-mates on their pre-season training camp in Austria.

Semedo’s Romanian adventure started in 2006 when he ended his six-year association with Estrela by moving to Cluj. The Lisbon native enjoyed huge success during his two-year spell with Cluj, winning both the Romanian Cup and league championship at the Dr Constantin Radulescu Stadium.
