Maritimo match will be similar to those against big three - Brito

Rio Ave coach recognises Madeira side's recent form

carlos_brito.jpgThis Sunday's match between Maritimo and Rio Ave at the Barreiros will be the equivalent tothe vila-condense side travelling to Porto, Sporting or Benfica's home grounds, according to Carlos Brtio.

The Rio Ave boss is under no allusions that the match against the verde-rubros will be tough as Maritimo have not lost a home match since September against Naval, which is coincidentally the last time they lost in league play.

Brito feels that the Madeira club have done very well since Mitchell Van der Gaag inherited the team from Carlos Carvalhal and will ensure his squad are prepared and focused for the upcoming contest.

"I cannot say that I am preparing for the match against Maritimo as if they were any other team," said Brito. "I would say that I am preparing for this match the same way, taking into account our merit because we have the capacity to achieve a good result in Funchal"

"We'll have to have the same demeanour, concentration and approach as we would if it were a match against any of the big three."
