Brito confident ahead of Nacional

Rio Ave look to continue good form

carlos_brito.jpgAn interesting contest lined-up for this weekend is the clash between Rio Ave and Nacional as the Vila da Conde side will look to prove that their current 5th place positioning is by no means a fluke.

Rio Ave have surprised some critics with their early season form earning five points in the first three rounds of the championship, but they will be put to the test when Nacional pay them a visit.

Coach Carlos Brito feels that the team's achievements are well merited and that the team are in the right frame of mind to have another good match.

"Rio Ave are feeling good, but the team have yet to play to their capacities," claimed Brito. "The points won up until now are very much deserved, we played to win and they weren't by chance. Clearly we can produce more and not win, but in any case, I think we have the capacity to improve."

As for the Madeira side, Brito does by no means think that the three points will by guaranteed as he feels that Nacional are one of the most dangerous teams to play against when they are away from home.

"I expect a very dangerous team. Nacional are one of the teams who create the most difficulty for teams who play at home."

"(Nacional having yet to win) does not matter. They haven't won, but with the exception of their home match against Olhanense, the other two (Sporting & FC Porto) were of elevated difficulty," added the Rio Ave boss.
