Nelson hit with Swine flu

Defender one of six Real Betis players struck down with virus

NelsonPortugal international right-back Nelson (pictured, right) has contracted Swine flu. The former Benfica defender is one of a number of players at the La Liga club who have been infected with the virus.
As many as ten players at the club were initially thought to have caught the illness, but it now appears that there are just six confirmed cases.
The Andalusia outfit has yet to officially announce the players who are confirmed as having the H1N1 virus, but according to Spanish sports dailies, AS and Marca, the following Betis players returned a positive diagnosis: Nelson, Sergio Garcia, Carlos Garcia, Arzu, Sunny and Junior Israel.

Real Betis will release a bulletin this afternoon listing the players infected, and have already requested that their match in the Spanish second division this weekend against Villarreal B be postponed.
