Video: Vieirinha sees PAOK past Iraklis

PAOK 1-0 Iraklis

Vieirinha scored the only goal of the game as PAOK beat Iraklis at the Stadio Toumbas yesterday to temporarily move into the top three in the Super League.

The former Porto man struck in the 10th minute and his 7th goal of the season proved enough to take PAOK above AEK in third place. The Athens club can move back into the top three, however, should they beat Larissa in the capital later this afternoon.

Next up for Vieirinha’s men is a crucial Europa League clash with Dinamo Zagreb on Wednesday. PAOK travel to the Croatian capital needing a point to secure qualification from Group D for the knockout rounds of the competition.

Benfica should try to get him, Eliseu, Paulo Machado, and get some better center backs
Deserves a Portugal Call-Up

Although he'd be behind Ronaldo, Nani, and Varela, I think Vierinha would be another great player on the bench. He has scored 7 goals in a highly defensive league, and looks like he has a great touch and speed. Portugal just has an assembly line of great wingers. The team was wrongly judged as weak under Quieroz. Bento has shown that our squad is truly world class, and can thus rival any top footballing nation. Although it really hurts to say this, I am 75% we would have won the 2010 World Cup if Bento was our coach. The rest of the world was really sub par, except for Germany and Spain. And everyone saw that we made the Spanish "World Champions" look more like "CONCACAF" champions.
