Brazil will go out to win - Kaka

Midfielder hoping for “great show”

Brazilian playmaker Kaka has stated the importance his side have placed on winning Group G, ahead of their meeting with Portugal on Friday.

The South American champions will win the section with a draw against Carlos Queiroz’s side, and Real Madrid man Kaka, who is suspended for the tie, is anticipating a good game in which the five-time world champions will be looking for the win to boost their confidence for the rest of the tournament.

"Brazil will go out to win," said Kaka. "This final group game is important for us to finish first. A draw would also be good but a win would give us the strength to go into the knock-out round really motivated.

"There is a little bit of rivalry between Brazil and Portugal. There are three Brazilian-born players in their side (Pepe, Deco and Liedson). Portugal is one of the teams we have faced more times in recent years. We thrashed them in Brasilia and we lost against them in London 2-0.

“You never know what can happen. Portugal drew against Ivory Coast and Spain lost against Switzerland. Football is like that and at times you find adversity and you don't know how a game will develop. I do hope that the fans get to see a great show on Friday."

Uruguay, Netherlands.

But... both Ivory Coast and N. Korea scored on Brazil so they are penetrable. (*ahem*)

Almeida and Mendes picked up yellows so I expect they will both sit out. Unfortunately cards only clear after quarters, but tactically we may need these players for knockout stage so i expect they won't play vs. Brazil, especially Mendes since in defensive mid is position most likely to have to give professional foul. The bigger question is the replacement for Mendes both vs. Brazil and later in rounds should Mendes get another yellow, start Veloso with Pepe to come in to gain match speed, or start Pepe from start, probably the prior.

Ronaldo should play despite yellow since we need to build our chemistry and passing vs. a solid defensive unit such as Brazil, it is much different than thrashing N. Korea.

It was a long season for Miguel and Simao, and they are older, so they might be rest for fatigue reasons.

In any case, I hope Pepe, Danny, Duda some playing time as subs or starters, since we will surely need them if Portugal should make a run.

GO for 1ST!!!!!!!
c'mon people!!!

Even if Dunga leaves out 2 or 3 of his star players, we need to keep fully focussed as these new players will be out to impress.

I just hope queiroz sticks with Almeida up front. We need someone strong to take on Lucio.
My prediction

Brazil is a defensive counter attacking team, so if we go all out, we will lose badly. I don't think that portugal will be as cautious as they were against the Ivory Coast, but I do see a tight game, but I think a moment of brilliance from ronaldo like a free kick will be the difference. So I predict a
1-0 victory for portugal.

The truth

I believe what Kaka is saying. Brazil wants to top the group badly and will do whatever it takes to win.

Somebody asked me today if I think Paulo Ferreira will get the start. My answer is I hope Queiroz goes with the exact line-up as last game.
nothing but Kaka

Here we go listen to the way he puts his coments out there. To bad he wont be on the field to have him eat his own words. This would be a great time to have Portugal show some great futbol and put a few past Julio Ceasar. I would love nothing more then to repeat the feat back from the 66" WC and have brazil being the favorites to win the cup suffer a wonderfull defeat and the hands of us Portuguese. Lets hope our boys give them a great game and perhaps even come away toping the group. FORCA PORTUGAL
