North Korea players found and are ok

Misunderstanding led to quartet's 'disappearance'

north korea national team.jpgWe can call off the hounds as the players missing from the North Korean squad have been found and are all doing well, so we are told.

The players in question, Kim Myong, Kim Kyonh II, Na Chol and Pak Sung Hyok, were originally reported as missing as the squad members' names were not on the team roster submitted by North Korea when they met Brazil the other day.

But now everything has been cleared as both FIFA and North Korea have confirmed that a simple oversight  was the reason behind the players' disappearance.

FIFA spokesman Nicolas Maingot declared that the players are still with the team and that the whole situation was blown out of proportion.

"Rumours were reported in certain media, apparently, based on the list of players that was submitted for North Korea's first match. But we have been in contact with the North Korean delegation and the stories have been dismissed yesterday and today."

To further add credence to the FIFA represenative's claims, a spokesman from North Korea, Gordon Watson, added that the team did only submit 19 names for the match against Brazil and that the remaining four were listed as absent.
