Bracalli: We can't be scared

Nacional 'keeper wants to reverse negative trend

bracalli.jpgTwo teams who need victories this weekend are Nacional and Sporting. The pair square off at the Alvalade on Sunday.

Sporting are still smarting from the defeat at the hands of neighbouring rivals Benfica, while Nacional went down in a heap to FC Porto, culminating in their third consecutive loss.

Nacional goalkeeper Bracalli, more than anyone, would like to get back on the winning track, but knows that it will not be easy to do it against the Leoes in their own backyard.

"If we start scared, we've already lost," said the Brazilian shot-stopper. "A team has to be ambitious, but also has to respect its adversary. We will play with Sporting away and we will try to explore the adversary's weak points in order to leave the Alvalade with a postive result - which could be a victory, but it depends on how the game goes."

As for the team's recent slide, Bracalli feels that Nacional have lost their rhythm and need to get it back in a hurry or they could very well sufffer their fourth straight defeat.

"After the game with Benfica (2-1 win) we didn't manage to maintain our balance. It was because of that we didn't win and not because players suffered injuries."

"We knew that the first six matches would be difficult, No need to talk about a crisis as we've only played five games, but it needs to change."

"There was some fascination with the first two victories, but we didn't manage to win the following games because the adversaries were superior."
