Nacional set stall for strong 2010/11

Sixth recruit brought in for new coach Jokanovic

Predrag JokanovicNacional da Madeira have confirmed the signing of Danijel Stojanovic, the club’s sixth new recruit this close season. The islanders appear intent on making a push to get back into Europe after just missing out this season.

Left-back Stojanovic has joined Nacional from Belarusian side Zrinjski Mostar. The acquisition comes hot on the heels of the purchase of Dejan Skolnik, an U21 Croatia international.

The influx of talent from Eastern Europe is no doubt linked to the appointment of Serbian, Predrag Jokanovic, as Nacional’s head coach, who succeeded Manuel Machado at the end of the season.

Nacional have also contracted Danielson (ex-P. Ferreira), Marcio Madeira (ex-Juventude de Evora) and Hugo Nascimento (ex-Debreceni, of Hungary), together with star signing Helder Barbosa, who made the switch to Madeira from Vitoria de Setúbal.
