Video: Nani among the goals as United hammer Arsenal

Manchester United 8-2 Arsenal

Portugal international Nani opened his account for the new Premier League season as Manchester United maintained their 100% start with a memorable victory over Arsenal at Old Trafford.

Nani scored the fifth goal for the home side midway through the second half, finishing calmly from inside the area having been found by Wayne Rooney. It was Nani’s first league goal since February, with Rooney (3), Ashley Young (2), Danny Welbeck and Ji-Sung Park also on the score sheet for the champions.

First things first
Fantastic performance by United. Yes, Arsenal was (is) injury ridden and two of their best players just left but still, a devastating game by United (who's also missing out on a lot of 1st teamers ) and our boy Nani I really hope the "penny drops", again otherwise he will be benched. Young (I think to everyone's surprise) has been fantastic (and consistent).
Team impressive, Nani so so

Torpiano, I agree.
Nani held the ball too long on several occasions. He was also selfish with it multiple times.
With Valencia back, it will be interesting to see what SAF will do. He tends to sit players that he plays early in seasons. Granted, Nani isn't a youngster in need of experience.
I will say that Nani did track back well and actually stole the ball while defending. A good trend, especially for the Seleccao.

Young has really surprised me, so far. I didn't see this coming. We'll see what happens when defenses adjust.
By the way, Arsenal is really taking a nose dive. Not enough quality to compete with the big boys. It could get ugly fast.

I thought Nani had a disappointing game by his standards, he was just about to be subbed when he scored that goal.

I'm sure he will improve and find his form, but at the moment he is being well and truely upstaged by a very impressive Ashley Young.

As for Arsenal, I would h8-2 be a fan of theirs at the moment.
