Joao Ribeiro happy at Guimaraes

Forward flattered by reported interest from other clubs

joaoribeiro1.jpgVitoria Guimaraes' Joao Ribeiro is enjoying a fine season with the minho club and is part of the reason the all-whites are currently sitting in third place in the Liga ZON Sagres table.

The 25-year-old appears to have come into his own since showing flashes of his potential when he was with Naval. The forward is happy to receive plaudits for his displays with Guimaraes, but is quick to admit that he will is just content to continue doing a good job for his new club.

"I am at a club that are at a high level," said Riberio. "I am undergoing a good phase and I will continue to work hard so that I can maintain the good performances. I am playing in a position that I enjoy and things are going well."

"Right from the first moment I arrived I felt that the team had a lot of worth. We were thinking about reaching the top five places, but if things continue to go this way, we could think about a little more."

Despite the rave reviews that Guimaraes have received for their team efforts, Ribeiro continues to stand out as one of the club's top performers and has even garnered attention from clubs abroad, and national team coach Paulo Bento. But Ribeiro prefers to keep his feet grounded and will allow fate to take its course.

"I am more preoccupied with the work that I have done here. I am satisfied to hear about the various interests as it is a recognition of my worth, but I am focused on having good exhibitions at Vitoria."

"I'll lets things happen as I am not thinking about leaving at this moment. My head is centred around this club."
