Bulgaria: Rui Miguel bags brace in CSKA win

Levski stay top

cskaJanuary recruit Rui Miguel scored twice as champions CSKA Sofia won 3-1 at Lokotmotiv Plovdiv to keep up the pressure on Levski at the top of the Bulgarian A PFG.

Both Rui Miguel and David Silva were in manager Luboslav Penev’s starting line-up for the match, and defender Ivan Ivanov gave the visitors a first-half lead. However, Pavle Delibasic levelled on the stroke of half time to see the sides go into the break on equal terms.

Rui Miguel would prove the match winner, restoring CSKA’s advantage on 54 minutes and making the points safe in injury time with his second of the evening. Midfielder Silva was replaced on 75 minutes, as CSKA secured their third straight league victory since the resumption of the Bulgarian championship earlier this month.

Filipe da Costa, who left CSKA during the winter break and signed for arch-rivals Levski, played in midfield as his new side beat Chernomorets 3-1 in the capital to maintain their slender one-point advantage at the top of the table.
