Amaury Bischoff shown the door by Arsenal

Portugal U21 player joins Fonte in leaving the Gunners

Amaury BischoffArsenal today announced that Portugal U21 international Amaury Bischoff is to be released. The French-born former Werder Bremen player is the second Portuguese to leave the Londoners this close season, after Rui Fonte was also informed he was free to seek a new club.

Amaury will be leaving after failing to make an impact during his one season at the Premier League club. He was a regular in Arsenal’s reserve team, but only made four substitute appearances for the first team.

Indeed, Amuary’s best football this season came in a Portugal shirt as the midfielder impressed for the Under-21s, even leading to rumours that Portugal’s big three were pondering making a move for the player.

Like Rui Fonte, now back at Sporting but likely to be loaned out for a season, Amaury must now take stock and try to prove at another club that Arsene Wenger got it wrong.
